Whatever the weather, the walk to work always takes me 15 minutes. The route can change according to the red lights, the weather, or even my mood. I leave my place, an old residential neighbourhood with big brick houses, and cross an isolated parking lot, followed by Rideau street and its dubious stores, then arrive in the market, salespeople, boutiques, bakeries...Rideau street is like a barrier one has to overcome, a place that cuts a pittoresque path...a place one must be careful of. Other than that, I like the walk. It gives me time to think and prepare my day, remember which fax I have to send...It relaxes me.
