the flators
Suzanne Déry and Anthony Burnham form the collective The Flators. Through forms of public actions and site specific installations, their work displays the relationship between presentation, experience and location. Their work attempts to establish a network of relationships between different places and individuals. To enhance the role of the spectator, to create an interactive experience and reach a wider audience, they have created inflatable structures that can be manipulated, transformed, entered, worn and transported in a handbag. Their work is about disturbing the everyday, in a form of reorganizing. They are presently interested in continuing to involve themselves into the public sphere by creating actions in forms of micro events, where domestic seclusion and public encounters converge.
